Precipitation & FSJ Power Outage

In the past two days, the Fort St. John region officially received more than 30 times the amount of precipitation it recorded, in the first 26 days of the month.
According to Environment Canada the total for Tuesday and Wednesday was 9.5 millimeters, putting the month-to-date total at 9.8., or slightly more than 50 percent of the April norm.
However, what we’ve recorded in this region this week is nothing compared to what southern Alberta is receiving right now.
With a winter storm warning in effect, police have issued highway travel warnings, from North of Red Deer to the Montana border.
Current two-day snowfall estimates are up to 25 centimeters for Lethbridge, and rainfall estimates are as high as 30 millimeters for Medicine Hat.
The good news is this could, at least temporarily, lessen concerns about another Western Canadian drought year, for many farmers and ranchers.
Meantime, for the second day in a row BC Hydro is dealing with a power outage in Fort St. John.
However, according to the Hydro website, this one is only impacting 14 customers in the 88 hundred block of 102nd avenue.
The outage reportedly began at 4.43am, and Hydro estimates service will be restored by 8 o’clock.
There’s no word yet on what caused the outage.
