By Jon Zacks

The Fort St. John RCMP have confirmed a two-vehicle accident on the Alaska highway on Monday morning.

Corporal Sascha Fesenko says police were called to the intersection of the Highway 97 and 271 road at around 8:30 a.m. He says the accident resulted in a small fuel spill, likely from a ‘tidy tank’ inside one of the vehicles.

He says the drivers were the lone occupants of both vehicles, and both suffered minor injuries. He says one of them was taken to the Fort St. John hospital, and released after treatment.

Corporal Fesenko says an impaired driving investigation is underway into one of the drivers – and charges may be laid once that investigation is complete.
