Chetwynd Townhouse Fire

Residents of a townhouse and nearby apartments were evacuated early this morning following a fire in Chetwynd.

Fire Chief Leo Sabulsky says, it’s believed the fire started on the steps of the townhouse at about five o’clock, and spread to an exterior wall and then the ceiling.

However, it took 15 volunteer firefighters only about an hour to get it out, and damage was confined to townhouse were it started.

There are no reports of any injuries, and there’s no dollars and cents estimate of the damage.
