Fort St. John City Council has granted a tender for just over four million dollars, that goes to exterior work at the Enerplex site.

That follows a report submitted to Council this week, which confirmed there’s still five point six million dollars left in the senior government’s infrastructure grant received last year for the Enerplex.

DGS Astro Paving will conduct the final base preparation for the parking lot, that includes concrete curbing, storm sewer installation, lighting, and paving on both the southeast and northwest sides of the building.

However, it does not include landscaping and irrigation works, nor the construction of the rainwater tank and system.

To ensure the entire project does not go over budget the City must keep the cost of this work, at or below the projected price tag.

Thus, if negotiations with DGS Astro don’t work out then the contract will be rejected and retendered.
