The Dawson Creek RCMP have been able to locate the male approaching children in that community.
The RCMP have determined that there was no threat to the public by this male and they encourage the public to continue to report anything they feel suspicious.
On Thursday, the RCMP asked for the publics assistance in locating a vehicle of interest.
In between April 17th, 2010 and May 5th, 2010, the Dawson Creek detachment received three separate complaints of an elderly male driving a red pick up truck offering candy and ice cream to young children.  During each of the incidents, those involved refused any contact and the male drove off.

The RCMP have not provided any reason why the man was approaching children in the community, but did say the communities tips greatly assisted in the resolution of this matter.
