A Highway 16 head-on collision at about 1.30 yesterday afternoon has resulted in a double fatality.
It occurred about 15 kilometers east of Vanderhoof and the drivers of both small vehicles involved, were killed.
The identities of the victims have not been released, and there’s no indication yet what caused the deadly crash.
The RCMP investigation continues.
Meantime, BC Hydro’s website is giving a motor vehicle accident, as the cause of the most serious of three confirmed weekend power outages in the Dawson Creek area.
45 customers were left without service for about 2 hours yesterday, starting at 11.18am.
Hydro lists the service impact area, as East of the 223 Road…South of the 222 Road…North of the 214 Road…and West of the 217 Road.
The other outages each impacted only about half a dozen customers.
One at Mile-26 of the Alaska Highway on Saturday afternoon, began about 1.45 and lasted nearly three hours.
However, the other one, in the Swan Lake sub-division, began at 6.30 last night, and it lasted only 10 minutes.
