The Fort St. John based provincial Oil and Gas Commission has released the findings of its 2009 Archaeology Audit Program.

Conducted annually to gauge the effectiveness of archaeological management systems used by the oil and gas industry the report evaluated the peformance of 18 companies operating in the province.

The OGC has issued an information bulletin which doesn’t identify them, but does give general results for all but one of them.

It says three were given a “good’ rating for demonstrating proactive and innovative management plans.

Another 13 received a “satisfcatory” rating, and one was the recipient of an”opportunity for improvement” rating.

The final report is available on the Commission website @ www.ogc.gov.bc.ca.
