Online WestJet Service Petition

As of late this morning, an online petition seeking support for WestJet air service directly to Fort St. John had gathered more than 1,500 names.

 

Those behind it say they hope to reduce transporation challenges in and out of the city, but WestJet spokesman, Robert Palmer, indicated today their biggest hurdle is the area’s population base…

He confirmed receipt of a letter from City Council inquiring about the possibility of Fort St. John service, but says it is simply not economically feasible at this time.

However, he also indicated it’s not something that’s been dropped off WestJet’s service radar screen…
