Police sting nets 11 drug traffickers

RCMP in Northern B.C. are reporting charges against 11 different people, as the result of a seven-month drug sting.

‘Project E-Protean’, a partnership among the North District Drug Section and the Dawson Creek and Fort St. John RCMP detachments, saw undercover officers buy drugs and attempt to infiltrate organizations running the drug trade in the Peace Region.

A police release says the operation has resulted in 15 drug-related charges against 11 residents of Fort St. John and Dawson Creek, along with the seizure of $42,000 cash and a 2006 Lincoln Navigator.

Those charged from Fort St. John include Warren Monty Anderson (33), Dallas James Peever (32), Timothy Shawn Sound (25), Jessica Anne Desjarlais (27), Donald Jean Kocurek (40), and Alex Paul Whitford (38).

Those charged from Dawson Creek include Roberto Carlos Soares (30), Terry Lee Schaffer (50), Anthony David Loeppky (22), Ralph Craven Savard (32), Shauna Liza Freeman (29).

Constable Craig Douglass says many of those accused have already been released pending their next court appearances, while arrest warrants have been issued for the rest.
