Rural and small town development will be the subject of an address tonight in Fort St. John.

The North Peace Savings and Credit Union in partnership with Sci-Tech North will present “Re-orienting for Renewal: Community Development in Rural and Small Town BC”.

The guest speaker will be UNBC’S Don Manson, the Coordinator of the Community Development Institute which focuses on community capacity and community development issues.

His presentation tonight will also focus on answering what is community development and how to meet development opportunities and challenges.

It will also deal with getting ahead of the resource development curve, and offer examples of successful resource development policy in BC.

The address is set for seven o’clock in the East meeting room of the Enerplex.
