There was a small brush fire north of Fort St. John on Friday afternoon.

Fort St. John Fire Chief Fred Burrows says some high wind spread a controlled fire in a burn pile into the surrounding brush.

Burrows says it took crews around an hour to extinguish the blaze, located on the Rose Prairie Road just north of the Montney Road

He says there were no injuries or damage to report.
