The Fort St. John RCMP say one man is injured after a stabbing this morning.

At 8:35, the Mounties received a report of an injured male walking along 104th Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered the man in a residence in the 9700 block of 104th Ave, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Corporal Steve Perret says the man was taken to the hospital for treatment and has been released, while an unidentified and uninjured female has been taken into custody.

He says the incident likely began as a domestic dispute between a couple of African descent.

Police say the surrounding streets could be cordoned off until late Wednesday.  Police say the investigation is taking longer than normal because they need the help of a translator.
