The local RCMP are now seeking public assistance, as it continues to investigate what it calls a "brandishing incident."

It allegedly occurred early last Saturday afternoon, when police received a report of five teens swinging what appeared to be a bat or large knife, while walking on 115th avenue.

Police later located a large, sheathed machete just a few feet away from a group of five young people…three boys and two girls.

However, to date they’ve been unable to determine who had been in possession of the seized machete, and the youths were let off with a warning.

A police release says it appears this was solely a brandishing incident, and there’s no evidence of any threats or violence.

Anyone with information, that could assist police is asked to call the crimestoppers number, 1-800-222-8477.
