In response to a rumor circulating by way of social networking sites and e-mail, the local RCMP has taken the unusual step of issuing a public statement regarding what appears to be a non-story.

A rumor has been circulating for days now, regarding an alleged act of violence, in the Fish Creek Community Forest.

The RCMP is advising the public it has not received any reports or complaints about violent incidences to support that rumor.

At the same time however, the police news release asks anyone with information about the alleged incident, to contact the local detachment, at 250-787-8140.
