Grande Prairie Rural RCMP are conducting an investigation into a single vehicle ATV collision which occurred on Monday June 21st at 5:30 p.m. in Sexsmith.

Police say a 39 year old man was leaving his place of employment in Sexsmith and operating his quad in a ditch. He reportedly collided with a five foot high culvert in the ditch, causing him to be thrown from the ATV as it flipped.

The man was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Police are investigating factors which contributed to the incident.

STARS Air Ambulance took the injured male from the scene to a local hospital; the extent of his injuries are still yet to be determined.
