Police are warning residents and motorists in the Groundbirch area to be on the lookout for a suspicious man.

An early release from the Chetwynd RCMP suggested the male was attempting to flag down a ride.

But, the Dawson Creek RCMP have since said the male is now in possession of a truck, which they believe could be stolen.

The suspect is still believed to be in the Groundbirch area, and police say he “has proven himself to be unpredictable and violent.”

The man is described as a caucasian male in his early 20’s, possibly wearing dark pants, or possibly no pants. The vehicle is described as an older model silver and green GMC pickup, with front end damage. It may have B.C. license plate GO 8606 or GO 8608.

Anyone who comes across this vehicle or individual is asked to call the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700
