The Dawson Creek air show will showcase the Snowbirds and various other aerobatic talents for residents of the area on Wednesday.

Darlene Hamre is the show producer and says there will be many exciting activities and aerobatic techniques on display.

She says on top of the snowbirds, there will be two A10 planes from Arizona and the Canadian F18s, as well as many civilian aerobatic performers.

Joe Shetterly is one of the A10 pilots and says his group will be performing different maneuvers for the people viewing.

Hamre says the show should last between 3 and 3 ½ hours.

She says people of all ages can come out to take part in the event but reminds people they are not allowed to bring their pets as the noise can hurt their ears and people should bring earplugs for children if necessary.

She adds that there will not be a children’s play area at the event this year.

The air show is free to attend and will take place at the Dawson Creek airport starting at 6:30 p.m. with a free shuttle running from the Dawson Mall starting at 4:15 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to take the shuttle as there will be a $10 fee for parking at the airport.
