Baldonnel resident Glenn Stewart and his stallion Genuine Jet Smooth are grand champions in the Cowboy Up competition at the Calgary Stampede.

Monday afternoon Stewart was able to pull ahead and take the lead after competing in the preliminary rounds on Saturday and Sunday.

Stewart and 14 other contestants from around the world competed for a place in today’s final round. With the win, Stewart brings home a nice new belt buckle and $5,000.

The Cowboy Up Challenge is an obstacle course where the riders are timed plus judges look at things like horsemanship, cadence, control, and overall execution.
