The July Sale of natural gas and petroleum rights yesterday resulted in just over 53 million dollars in bonus bids.
31 of the 37 parcels offered were sold and they covered just under 36 and half thousand hectares.
That left the per hectare price at slightly less than half of the June sale, but that sale generated bonus bids, of more than 404 million dollars, or nearly 8 times yesterday’s total.
Still the July sale pushed the calendar year-to-date government revenue total, to more than 662 million dollars, and the new Energy Minister is well aware of the importance of the oil and gas industry, to the province, as an economic driver…and also of the social challenges that presents in this region….
Bill Bennett is continuing his Peace Region visit today and we note again will be the featured guest and speaker, at a local Chamber of Commerce dinner, scheduled for 6 o’clock this evening, at the Pomeroy Hotel.
