Local person taking over top job at FSJ airport

The Fort St. John airport will have a new managing director from the local community.

Moira Green will be taking over the position for the North Peace Airport Services.

She had previously worked at the North Peace Savings and Credit Union.

She says she’s very excited to begin the position and to be a strong representative of the community.

She says the job will be a steep learning curve, but that she feels she will be able to significantly contribute to a community in which she strongly believes.

She adds that smaller airports, like the one in Fort St. John, have to work to be integrated with a community, so that it is viewed as one of the most important pillars of infrastructure in the city.

There are many skills that she says she brings to the position and hopes she can incorporate into the job.

Fred Jarvis, mayor of the District of Taylor and the president of the North Peace Airport Society says he feels Green’s previous experience will be a benefit to the airport.
