A long time Fort St John resident and a big supporter of stock car racing took the checkered flag at the ARCA WEST OK TIRE 100 last weekend in Quesnel.
Lee Thomas, the oldest active driver on the ARCA WEST circuit, outpaced a strong 15 person field to bring home his first victory of the 2010 season.
The ARCA WEST OK TIRE 100, which is run as part of Quesnel’s Billy Barker Days celebrations, was run at the Gold Span Speedway.
Just four racers finished on the lead lap as Thomas showed the younger racers the power of experience.
Matt Stephenson finished in second and Garnett Grimard in third. The win leaves Thomas in 9th in the overall ARCA WEST OK TIRE Sportsman standings with the next race in Agassiz on August 7th.
