Man injured by road roller

A 27 year old Grande Prairie man suffered critical injuries about 5:30 yesterday afteroon in a workplace accident just north of the city.

The RCMP confirms he was cleaning the outside of a pickup at a work site in Clairmont, when he was struck by a ground packing machine, being operated by a 20 year old Peace River man.

The police news release says the victim unsuccessfully attempted to get into the pick-up in time to avoid being hit.
