The new heritage posts are giving people a peek into Fort St. John’s past.
Deanna Hill is the visitor services co-ordinator for the city. She says there are currently 29 posts being put up and more will be going in later in the year.
Hill says the new posts will also have the new name of the Pioneer Pathway.
She says the posts are used to highlight the city’s past. These posts have a picture of what an area of the city used to look like several decades ago as well as a description of the history of the building or area.
One of the areas of interest included in the project is the area where the restaurant Whole Wheat and Honey is located which was the C.M Finch’s store, one of the original buildings in the city.
