Shaw wins Cecil Lake Challenge Cup time trial



Kevin Shaw won the 16 mile Cecil Lake Challenge Cup time trial, Sunday, with a time of 25:00 minutes. Shayne Reid (GP) was second at 25:50 and Pat Ferris third at 26:02.

The Blizzard A2 team won the afternoon team time trial at 1:10:44 (Pat Ferris, Jolea Bilodeau and Les Elliott) on the 40 km circuit. The Grande Prairie A- was second at 1:12:30 (Warren Miller, Shayne Reid, Francis Plum and Dave Jaeger). The Blizzard R.o.T. team was third at 1:14:38 (August, Jake Elliott, Ken Nix and Darren Guliov). Cassie Baker and Adam Currie also did 45:29 for 20 km. Thanks to Sabina for timing the afternoon race!

The Blizzards won the 2 race series 35 to 16. This brings the total points for GP to 188, FSJ 187 and Dawson Creek 68. One race in September 15 is the final Challenge Cup race of the year.
Other 16 k times were Dave Jaeger (GP) 27:24, Richard Wood 27:36, Warren Miller (GP) 28:41, Frances Plum (GP) 29:42, Ken Nix 29:57, Dean Lowry 30:14, Owen Giebelhaus 31:32 and Adam Currie 33:13.

-Thurs Baldonnel time trial 7 pm
-Sunday 40 km time trial Goodlow at 7 pm.
Geoff McDonald (GP) Stephen Ferris and Colter Young are in Vancouver for the Tour of Whiterock, July 16-18.
