A 40 year old Medicine Hat man was at last report in critical condition in Edmonton hospital, following a two vehicle highway crash yesterday afternoon, in the Alberta Peace.

The Beaverlodge RCMP says it involved a pick-up and a tanker truck, that collided at about 4 o’clock at the intersection of Highway 59 and Secondary Road 723.

The pick-up, driven by the critically injured man, then entered the ditch and struck a utility pole.

A 20 year old Edmonton man, a passenger in the vehicle, sustained only minor injuries.

The 42 year old driver of the tanker truck was not injured.

Police say there was a leak of the tanker truck’s contents, but it did not result in any "onging issues."

They also say the intersection where the crash occurred is controlled by a stop sign on the secondary road, but there’s no word if charges are pending.
