The Fort St. John RCMP continues to investigate a house fire in Charlie Lake last weekend.

The cause is still under investigation, but the RCMP believe the fire was intentionally set and connected to a dispute in Fort St. John earlier that night.

Corporal Steve Perret says they believe it all started at residence on 101 avenue.

The RCMP have a suspect in the case and hope to make an arrest soon. It’s believed both incidents may have been caused by a tenancy dispute as the property in Charlie Lake was a rental.

The fire started shortly before 10pm on Saturday August 21st, at a home on Charlie Lake Crescent. Fire crews from both Fort St. John and Charlie Lake were called to the fire which destroyed the home.
