Defence awaiting possible deal in slopitch case

The court proceedings for the former treasurer of the Fort St. John Mixed Slopitch Society have been adjourned until Sept. 1.

John Hope, the defence lawyer acting on behalf of Nicole Kelly, says they are waiting for a response from the Crown about a potential deal.

Kelly has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000.

She allegedly removed over $100,000 from the Society’s accounts over a four-year period.

Kelly also has a court date set for Aug. 25 for which she is facing another count of fraud over $5,000 for allegedly taking money from a previous employer.
