Taylor’s Fire Chief confirms a Friday accident at around mile 28 of the Alaska Highway is causing traffic delays.
Mike Ryder says the accident was caused when a Northbound grain truck slowed down to allow another rig to enter the Highway 97 from a side road. Ryder says when the grain truck slowed, it was struck from behind by a third big truck, possibly a welding vehicle.
He says the highway is currently open to single-lane alternating traffic.
Ryder says he doesn’t believe there were any major injuries.
More details will be posted when they become available.
