Fundraiser gets kids involved with bike rodeo

The RCMP’s Cycle and Shine fundraiser will be raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the local SPCA.

The event will have a garage sale with donated items, a bike rodeo for children, a motorcycle show and shine and a barbecue.

Children will be able to learn about bicycle safety at the rodeo and learn the proper hand signals while going through obstacles, says Constable Shawn Ingham, one of the event organizers,

Ingham says that there will be a draw for a $100 gift certificate from Ferris Fast Cycles from all the positive tickets the bike patrol has given out so far over the summer.

The motorcycle show will begin at 1 p.m. and registration for the bicycle rodeo will begin at 12 p.m.

Furthermore, there will be a raffle for gift certificates to various local restaurants and venues around the city.

The fundraiser will be taking place Saturday at the Esquires Coffee House at 100 Ave. and 96 St. starting at 10 a.m.
