Chetwynd RCMP are searching for youths who allegedly lit parts of Highway 97 on fire.

At approximately 10pm on August 20th, the Chetwynd RCMP received a complaint of unknown youths west of the Aspen Trailer Court lighting Highway 97 on fire.  Police attended the scene and the suspects had already fled the scene.

Police found several smashed bottles that had been filled with gasoline strewn about the highway. Fortunately the fire did not spread and each fire burnt itself out.
