Moberly Lake man dies after assault


A Moberly Lake man is dead following an assault in Chetwynd.

At approximately 5:45pm on Friday July 30th, the Chetwynd RCMP were called to an area in the 5700 block of the South Access Road.

Upon arrival, RCMP located a man in a wooded area. The male, identified as 48 year-old James Allison, was suffering from undetermined injuries and transported to Chetwynd Regional Hospital.

Mr. Allison was then transferred to Vancouver General Hospital, where doctors confirmed he had been assaulted and that his prognosis was dire. Early Sunday morning, Mr. Allison passed away as a result of his injuries.

The RCMP have now classified his death as a homicide. The investigation will be conducted by Chetwynd RCMP and the North District Major Crime Unit.
