The Fort St. John RCMP have announced charges against three men in connection with a violent assault last weekend.

Mounties say a 21 year-old male was forcibly confined and assaulted at a residence in the 9600 block of 96th street, on the evening of Aug. 22.

Police say three Fort St. John residents have now been charged with numerous offences. A release also says all three are familiar to police, and are believed to be part of the drug culture in Fort St. John.

Eric Francis Zentner is charged with assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon.

Matthew Lloyd Handley is charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.

Jeremy Drake Jondreau is charged with robbery, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, and assault with a weapon.

The three are scheduled to return to court on Sept. 8.

The victim, who is believed to be from the Vancouver area, was taken to the Fort St. John hospital, and has since been released.
