Radioactive device lost near Tomslake

The Dawson Creek RCMP is asking the public to be cautious of a radioactive exposure device that came off a vehicle.

The device was lost near the Tomslake area near Road 213. It is silver and shiny and is approximately 23 cm by 30.5 cm, weighing around 60 lbs.

Although it is not harmful to the public, the device emits a low level of radiation. It contains a radioactive placard with an emergency telephone number.

Anyone who locates the device is asked to call 911 immediately and not to go near it.
