Anyone can be arrested and the police will go people’s workplaces and Tuesday and arrest them, taking them to a makeshift jail at the Totem Mall.

Those who are arrested will have to raise their own bail money, which is often pre-set by whoever nominated the person, says Constable Shawn Ingham who is organizing the event.

There is a $300 minimum bail requirement for each “person of interest”, but tax receipts will be issued to anyone who donates to someone’s bail fund.

One perk for people nominating someone else is that they can choose on what charges they want the person arrested.

He says he has approximately 30 arrest warrants ready but is hoping to have more by Tuesday.

Ingham says he would like to at least match last year’s fundraising total of $25,000.

Anyone wishing to have someone arrested can call the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-793-9586 to request a form.
