Suspect located in Chetwynd death

Police say a man has been arrested in connection with the death of a Moberly Lake man.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk, of the North District Major Crimes Unit, says the unidentified man had fled to Alberta, but was later arrested on unrelated charges. He has now been returned to B.C., and is being held in custody on the unrelated matter.

On July 30th, Chetwynd RCMP responded to a report of a injured male, at which point they discovered 48 year-old Harley James Allison suffering from undetermined injuries. Allison passed away from his injuries on Aug. 1st, and police have confirmed that he was the victim of an assault.

The investigation into Allison’s death continues, and Moskaluk says police will make a recommendation of charges in the coming months.
