Boy injured after running into car

A young boy has suffered only minor injuries after running into a moving vehicle in Prince George.

The 10 year-old had been walking to his new school in the City when he realised he had gone in the wrong direction, turned around and ran into a passing minivan.

Police say the boy only suffered a bloody nose and fat lip because the van was travelling at a low speed and obeying the school zone speed limit.

The boy was transported by ambulance to hospital but was later released.

Police are reminding motorists to drive slowly and be cautious of pedestrians when driving through school zones.
