HWY 97 now open north of Fort St. John

 

The RCMP say Highway 97 has been closed north of Fort St. John, due to a fatal accident.

Mounties say the route will be closed in both directions until at least 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police say accident investigators and the B.C. Coroner’s Service are on the way to the site, just north of Prophet River.

No further details are available at this time, but more details will be posted when they become available.

 

*** UPDATE – The RCMP now say the route will be closed until at least 11:30 Wednesday morning.

 

*** UPDATE – As of 12 p.m. Wednesday, the route is open in both directions.
