Mounties crack Arras grow-op

The Mounties have taken down a sophisticated grow-op in the South Peace.

The Dawson Creek RCMP wrapped up their investigation into the operation on Tuesday, when they executed a search warrant at a property on the 245 road, near Arras, B.C.

Assisted by the Fort St. John Fire Department and BC Hydro, police discovered and dismantled a grow-op that was running out of a bunker made out of a sea-can container, which was buried underneath a large shop.

Police say they found around $30,000 worth of marijuana bud, as well as 37 growing plants, and several firearms.

A 35 year-old male and a 30 year-old female were arrested at the scene, and have been released pending their next court appearance, on Sept. 21. The unidentified Dawson Creek residents face charges including production of marijuana, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property, as well as several firearms offences.
