OGC and PEA reach agreement

The B.C. Oil and Gas Commission has reached a tentative agreement with the Professional Employees Association.

The agreement was reached under the Province’s 2010 mandate.

The PEA currently has more than 1,200 members working for the Province in different capacities. Some of members of PEA at the OGC would include engineers and geologists.

Most of the 306,000 unionized workers in the Province’s public sector had agreements that were coming up for renewal earlier over this year.

The Province has previously stated that it would have to control wages during the current bargaining process because it doesn’t have extra funding for a wage increase.
