Police warn against speeding in school zones

As school begins Tuesday, the Dawson Creek RCMP are reminding drivers to be cautious and slow down when approaching school zones.

On days that classes are in session, school zones will be in effect from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The speed limit in those areas is 30 km/hour.

Police say the speed limit will be strongly enforced until the end of October.  Drivers can face a minimum $196 fine for speeding in one of these zones.
