UPDATE 2: Power outages in Fort St. John


UPDATE 2: Power has been restored to all areas of Fort St John except 241 Rd.  This affects fewer than five customers.  BC Hydro estimates it should be restored by 7:30 p.m., Saturday.

 UPDATE Power has been restored to a majority of customers in the City.  Customers are still without power in:

Mile 56,107 RD, 5700 block Baldonnel Rd., 7000 block of 253 Rd., 241 Rd. and 20700 – 20800 block of Braun Rd.

The number of customers now affected is fewer than 25.


BC Hydro is reporting several power outages across Fort St. John.

The areas affected are:
– North of highway 29 and south of the Alaska Highway
– Mile 56
– North of Rd 101
– 141 A Rd., 137 Rd and 141 Rd Milligan, Wolf Battery, Milligan Creek, 101 Rd, Milligan Creek Rd. and Mile 46
– 107 RD, 5700 block Baldonnel Rd.
– 241 Rd.
– 20700 – 20800 block of Braun Rd and 284 Rd.
There are approximately 220 customers affected by these outages.
The majority of the outages were due to the high winds the area experienced over night. A few were caused by trees falling on the power lines.
Power is expected to be restored by 5 p.m., Saturday.
