Dawson Creek RCMP stopped a break and enter and then seized over $200,000 in stolen property.

Just after midnight on September 13th, 2010, the Dawson Creek RCMP responded to an alarm at Hyper Toys.   Upon arrival, the RCMP were able to arrest a single male inside the Hyper Toys compound.  A second person was arrested sitting just outside the compound keeping an eye out for police, while watching her two sleeping children.

The couple from Ontario had recently stolen a travel trailer from Grande Prairie with the intention of filling the empty toy hauler with more stolen loot.  The trailer is valued at $107,000.

After a comprehensive investigation, members were led to a second stolen trailer that the couple had left in Fort St. John.  The second travel trailer worth $105,000 was located with the assistance of the Fort St. John General Duty section.

The male, who’s name cannot be released at this time, is known to police and has a very lengthy criminal record with previous convictions.   The male has been remanded in police custody for charges of break and enter, theft, mischief and 3 counts of stolen property.   The female was later released on similar charges.
