The Prince George RCMP is reminding the public that thieves are always looking for an opportunity to steal and rural areas are no exception.
Police in that region have received a number of theft complaints from owners of properties that are under construction.
Items being targeted include building supplies such as scaffolding, insulation, wiring, air compressors, generators and other related tools .
Thus, police are encouraging property owners and construction companies to remove any items that could be stolen, from even the most remote rural sites.
In the case items and material that can’t be moved, they’re recommending the use of secure storage compartments.
Rural residents are also reminded to be vigilant and to report any suspicious vehicles or persons to police.
