Three schools in School Districts 60 and 81 are receiving provincial funding through the School Community Connections grants.
The SCC grants are jointly given out by the Province, the Union of British Columbia Municipalities and the British Columbia School Trustees Association.
The three schools receiving the grants are J.S. Clark Elementary, Clearview Elementary/ JR Secondary and Hudson Hope Secondary.
J.S. Clark is receiving $30,000 and will be partnering with the Northern Rockies RM to upgrade the school’s playground for children under 5 years old.
Clearview Elementary/JR Secondary is receiving $19,858 and will be partnering with the Peace River Regional District to improve its playground area.
Hudson Hope Secondary is receiving $10,000 and will be partnering with the municipality of Hudson’s Hope to make improvements to the school’s baseball field and facilities to allow for better usage by the community.
This year, $1.35 million from these grants has been given out to 48 school districts across the province.
