2010 Olympic clock to be split in two

It seems that time is running out for the Olympic clock that has been outside the art gallery in downtown Vancouver.

The glass and wood clock was unveiled in February of 2007 and was used to count down the days until the 2010 Games. It became a very popular place in the city for both fans, who wanted to take their pictures with it, and Games protesters, who often splashed it with paint.

With the games now over the clock is getting two new homes. They have decided to split the clock in two with one half staying in Vancouver and the other in Whistler.

The piece celebrating the Olympics will be moved to B.C. Place, which was the site of the opening and closing ceremonies. The other half, which represents the Paralympics, is headed to Whistler Olympic Park and will be used to countdown future sporting events.
