Chamber hands out small business awards

The Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce handed out there small business awards Thursday night.

The award for business of the year with 15 and under employees went to Patch Java. The winner of the 2010 business of the year with 16 or more employees went to Troyer Ventures. Lilies and Lavender won the outstanding customer service award for 1 to 15 employees. The winner of outstanding customer service with 16 or more employees went to The Butcher Block.
The final award of the evening went to Andrew Tylosky as the 2010 Director of the Year.

The evening also featured a speech by the President of the B.C. Chamber of Commerce John Winter. Winter touched on many of the challenges and opportunities small businesses face in British Columbia. He also spent part of the speech talking about the success of the HST and the fact that his organization has been lobbying for the tax since 2002.

The awards are held every October as a part of Small Business Week.
