The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has received a significant donation from the Chances Gaming Centre.

The Centre’s Director of Gaming Operations Bruno Bourassa presented the foundation with $19,482.86 that was raised throughout September from its 3rd Annual Charity Golf and Poker Tournaments and the Divas Las Vegas Impersonators concert.

Executive Director of the Foundation Ashley Bentley says the money will be used to purchase a portable ultrasound machine for the Hospital’s emergency department.

Bentley says the total cost of the machine is around $80,000.

She adds that funding for the machine came from various fundraising events throughout the past year, but that with the newest donation from Chances, the Foundation now has more than $81,000.
