There is an open house and an official opening being held for the Farmer’s Advocacy Office in Dawson Creek.
The event is being held this Thursday with an official ribbon cutting for facility at 10am. All local farmers and rural land owners are welcome to attend from 9am until 5pm that same day. The office is located at 1032 103 avenue in Dawson Creek and is jointly funded by the Peace River Regional District and the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.
The office deals primarily with oil and gas concerns and will allow farmers and rural land owners to be provided with information in regards to compensation and case laws to help them with their issues. There will also be agents on hand to help address their concerns.
A virtual office is also currently under construction with hopes of being completed by the end of October. This virtual office will provide services for farmers and rural landowners without them physically making the trip into the office. The virtual office can be found at www.farmersadvocate.ca.
