The Huskies dropped their second game in a row to the Whitecourt Wolverines losing 5-2 at the North Peace Arena.
While it was a better showing for the Huskies than their 7-0 loss on Saturday, it was the the same result as the team drops to 4-2 on the year. Whitecourt opened the scoring just over six minutes into the period on a goal by Wayne Quaife. Two minutes later David White scored Whitecourt’s second goal after some sloppy play in the Huskkies defensive zone. Fans at this point had to be wondering if this game was going to start looking like the one on Saturday.
Fortunately for the fans the Huskies started to show some life. Robbie Sidhue showed some wonderful hesistation holding the puck confidently before sending a beautiful feed to Jaxon Glass for the Huskies first goal. It was Glass’s second goal in three games for the new Huskies sniper. The goal put the Huskies down 2-1 entering the second period.
Whitecourt scored a quick goal four minutes into the second reinstating the Wolverines two goal lead, but the Huskies were once again able to answer back making the score 3-2. This was as close as the Huskies would come. Quaife added scored his second goal of the game to make the score 4-2.
David White also added his second goal five minutes into the third the make the score 5-2 and that was how things would stand at the end of the game. The Huskies showed much better discipline during this game spending much less time in the penalty box.
Next up for the pups is a road trip to Peace River on Saturday. Catch the action live on Moose FM.
