On Sunday the Petroleum Association Midget Flyers finished their exhibition schedule by defeating the Spirit River Midget Rangers 5-2 at the Pomeroy SportsCentre.

The Flyers got off to a quick start with Cayle Bell scoring a unassisted goal in the first minute of play. The local squad continued to apply constant pressure but could only manage one goal in the second as Tyrel Lepine set up Derek Donis who ripped a shot into the top corner to give the Flyer’s a 2-1 lead after the second. In the third the combination of Michael Bacso, Blair Karasiuk and Beauden Lancaster broke the game open with two goals. Karasiuk got the ball rolling with a shot from the slot after passes from Bacso and Lancaster. Next up was a goal from Lancaster with assists going to Bacso and Karasiuk to pull away from the Rangers. Tanner Moulton scored the fifth goal for the Flyers with passes from Kyle Leonard and Jayton Wieler. Ryan Bueckert got the win in goal.
